C, Linux & Git in engineering
Software development, version-controlled deployments, and data migration supporting a new energy management system (EMS).
C development & Linux
- Ported C source code from Windows to Linux and compiled it for the new environment.
- Developed a C storm-response dashboard to track cooperative feeds, outages, and restoration status.
- Used Linux, Python, and database tools for engineering workflows and troubleshooting during the EMS transition.
Git & deployment workflows
- Deployed version-controlled changes across eight servers using Git.
- Recorded commit hashes with change documentation to connect deployed updates to their source revisions.
- Helped teammates use Git for display updates and maintained project documentation in Jira.
Data migration & system integration
- Migrated more than 300 TB of historian data as part of the EMS replacement, including historian metadata imports and database schema work.
- Implemented DC battery-bank monitoring and alarm logic.
- Contributed to the new EMS cutover and integration of telemetry, alarms, and system models.
- Performed test planning and factory acceptance testing in Jama Connect, alongside SCADA checkouts and troubleshooting with relay/protection teams.
